The offshore drilling market continues to improve with utilization for jackups and high-end floaters closing in on 95% pushing leading edge dayrates steadily higher. Dayrates for high end jackups are within clutching distance of USD 170k/d, while benign high-end drillships just breached the USD 500k mark on a short-term contract.
While airpockets and macro uncertainty casts near term shadows over the market, the medium to long-term outlook remains robust helped by a constrained supply side.
